Built in the 1830’s, the farm has been many things over the years; a dairy farm, sheep farm, vacation home and now a vineyard and winery. The farm has been in the family since 1964 and the vineyard broke ground in 2008. We initially sold grapes to other wineries while we perfected our wine making skills. In 2018 we were licensed and officially opened Montview Vineyard to the public
Our grapes were developed by Cornell University and the University of Minnesota to withstand the severe cold. We grow Prairie Star, Marquette, Frontenac Gris and Edelweiss. We also have Sunset, a seedless table grape.
In 2017 we bottled a red table wine, Marquette, from our signature red grapes. We also bottled Pas De Deux, a blend of our white grapes Prairie Star and Frontenac Gris.
In 2018 we are producing Marquette , Pas De Deux, Rose from Frontenac Gris, Prairie Star and a Marquette Rose
